Mothers

Today is my mothers birthday.
When someone is gone physically from your life
With no more sense of abandonment
You begin to long for the right here & now moments
That you should & could have spent with them.
My children, her grandchildren,
wished her a happy birthday as we ate a cupcake,
In her honour.
With her in mind.
I always speak of her & how much she would have adored them.
The sense of her in our world is powerful on days like today.

A Mother is a part of you...whether she is in your life or not.
You may never have met her.
You may never see her anymore.
She may have passed away.
She may have only just kissed you this morning.
You may never even realise how much she thinks about you.
You possibly might never understand her.
She possibly might never understand you.
The gift she gave you, while carrying you around for 9 months,
or possibly less,
Is the gift you have right now.
Life.
Breathing the air she took in to help you breath.
Living the life she slowly helped you live.
Your first sounds, steps, skills, words, tantrums, illnesses.
If it wasn't your mother, than know she had wished it were.
Your life as you breath is all a mother wants her child to have.
She gave you her body, mind and soul as she held you inside her.
Facing her own inner fears as she breathed through all the hard times.
She may not have seemed like she did a good job.
She may have always seemed busy.
You may never know all the things she did, does and will always do for you.
If you are a woman having a baby
you are now feeling just as your mother did.

Allow yoursef to breath your mothers breath just one more time.
Embrace the life she gave to you.
Honour your mothers and take time to be still with their breath.
